Strengthening, developing and enhancing the competitiveness of the Philippine construction industry, as a catalyst, is our commitment.

We aim to make our members globally competitive through innovative technologies, and business acumen while promoting the highest form of ethical standards. As nation builders, we serve to benefit our country — the Filipino people, and the world.”

The Pillars

Eyeing the reconstruction of the war-ravaged country after World War II, the Philippine Constructors Association Incorporated (PCA) was originally founded in November 29, 1945 by construction stalwarts A. G. Ner, Antonio Banas, Ephraim Gochangco, and its organizers Fortunato Conception, Juan Sison, Lorenzo Vidad, Maximo Dimson, Siochi, and Valeriano Pantoja. Their first collaborative mission was to resurrect Manila from the war. With this first step, the PCA has played a major part in nation building.

The Impact

Engaging, Enabling and Empowering. With over 1, 500 members, PCA annually handles an average of 70–80 percent construction projects. PCA associates are legitimate passers and license holders of the Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board (PCAB). The PCA conducts trainings on management and manpower training as well as facilitates arrangements foreign investors.

Acknowledged as “The Voice of the Construction Industry”, the PCA represents the country in international conferences for business and investment venture purposes. It has a wide reach as it is a member of the International Federation of Asian and Western Pacific Contractors Association (IFAWPCA), Asean Constructors Federation (ACF), and the Confederation of International Constructors Association (CICA).

The Outlook

Nation’s sustainability for a globally competitive industry is the PCA response.

“Act as one, build as one” is the motto of current PCA President Engr. Wilfredo Decena. Stretching its algorithm to foreign trades and business statistics, conducting subsidized training, seminars and symposiums for all its member-companies is the organization’s mantra. Decena is in tune with the revival of the domestic economy. He believes that relevant budgeting of infrastructure can amplify the construction sector as well as the economy and that working together can make an impact on global businesses.
