Isidro “Sid” Consunji is trying for a game changing venture into the palm oil industry. During his awarding ceremony by the Management Association of the Philippines where he was awarded Management Man of the Year 2022, Consunji has said that his family has agricultural investments in Mindanao, and that the investment options are African palm oil, carbon, credits, [and/or] rubber.

Consunji has mentioned that he was encouraged by the initiative of DENR Secretary Ma. Antonia “Toni” Yulo-Loyzaga, as well as being advised by economist Dr. Bernardo “Bernie” Villegas and UP Los Baños regarding this venture. In his talk with Yulo-Loyzaga, he said that they have identified some areas, but it has to be checked with a certification team if they will be accepted for carbon credits or not. He expects this venture to be relevant in Southern Visayas or Mindanao.
